Is DaVinci Code offensive?
Are you planning to see the movie? Why? Have you read the book? Do you find the book's claim that Jesus Christ was married to Mary Magdalene and that they had children offensive, or just good fiction writing?
Area priests have said they are reading the book and call it ""a work of fiction and not to be taken seriously.'' Do you agree?

Eleanor,
Although I haven't read the book, I plan to see the movie because the book has had so much success and becuase the movie has gotten positive press.
The book doesn't claim that Jesus was married to anybody. Dan Brown has said that it's a work of fiction.
And I look forward to your review. In general, you are a perceptive reviewer and have a very good knowledge of cinema. But I find myself disagreeing with almost every one of your bottom-line quality assessments. In fact, I almost never choose to see or not see a movie based on your recommendation.
Have you ever given a film a four-star rating?

The Hollywood crowd and liberals in general just snubbed "The Passion" because it offended them. Where is their outcry for the DaVinci Code offending Christian beliefs? Will Hollywood be coming out with an anti-Islam movie soon?
NO
I have yet to forgive Mr Hanks
for his disaster in
"Bonfire of the Vanities"
why mess up a written work
I enjoyed....
I enjoyed your recent review of the "Da Vinci Code" in the APP.
Today I came across a headline on the internet that said "EXCLUSIVE: Da Vinci Code Is 2nd Biggest Opening Weekend Of All Time Worldwide With $224 Million; No. 1 International Opening Weekend with $147 Mil; $77 Mil U.S. Opening Weekend"
Glad to see that you're in sync with the rest of the world again.
Norm
What ever Jesus did when he was on this earth does not matter as long as when I do meet him he says welcome my child. People need to lighten up on this movie and start thinking about this messed up world.
I do find the movie offensive. and I have read the book, found it very interesting, just as I found Lawrence Sanders' characters intersting... BUT FICTICIOUS.
