Why do moviegoers make the ""Pirates of Caribbean'' films such huge moneymakers? The sequel has grossed nearly $330 million in about three weeks. Despite being chaotic in narrative, unnecessarily bombastic and repetitive, both movies are big hits, and they both run more than two hours. That's punishment, not moviegoing! Anyone care to offer a theory about why ""Pirates'' are so popular?

No Sale

Is there anything more irritating than arriving at the movie theater in a timely fashion to get a good seat, then having to sit through at least 15 minutes of COMMERCIALS (followed by endless trailers and theater infomercials)? Having fled TV to avoid being hammered with ads, audiences are now assaulted at the movie theater. I think it stinks! What's your opinion?
